On 23 January 2025, the Kit Creator team investigated irregular voting patterns in recent Showcase competitions. During this search, we found that Jeff Flowers, prominent creator within the Kit Creator community, cheated in order to win multiple competitions.
We initially discovered Jeff created about 20 alternate accounts to artificially boost the vote count of his submission to the Total 90 Kit competition. When inspecting his competition wins through IP addresses and user ID codes, we found he intentionally utilized many or all of these alternate accounts to unjustly win eight of his nine competition championships, between April 2023 and January 2025. The competitions in which we found he cheated are listed below:
Uncovering this information, the Kit Creator team will be exercising our right to moderate our site and competitions in good faith. We feel this behavior is not in line with our site and community ethics. Given Jeff Flowers’ past issues with ethical behavior in the community, we plan to implement a six-month ban for him if he forfeits the prize won from the Kitsman competition, and a lifetime ban if he refuses. We will delete all of his associated fake accounts. He will be vacated of all the championships in which he cheated. He has also been banned from the FKC Discord Server indefinitely, pending prize forfeiture.
The Kit Creator team would like to reward the runners-up in each of the competitions Jeff cheated in with recognition and prizes within our capability to provide. Here are our new officially recognized champions:
We will be directly reaching out to gab.kits, LagoChris, and SimonMaxx regarding prizes for the newly recognized championships. Please feel free to reach out to these creators and congratulate them on these belated but very much earned newfound titles.
In order to prevent issues like this in the future, the Kit Creator team plans to implement more active IP log checks and user ID checks. We will also make competition votes public, so the community has the ability to scrutinize and report voting records. We hope these changes prevent incidents like this in the future.
The Kit Creator team is investigating other competitions for new cases of cheating or unethical competition behavior. We have not found any at the moment, but we will update the community if any other egregious issues have occurred, and how we plan to fix them.
